NPI Collected by Multi-State Insurance Services
Multi-State Insurance services may collect nonpublic person information (“NPI”) from you as necessary to service your policy or a claim. Some examples of the NPI we may collect are: Name and Address, Social Security Numbers, Drivers License Numbers, Credit Card and Bank Account information. We receive most NPI directly from you or your insurance agent during the application process. We also may collect additional information from you based on:
  1. Website transactions
  2. Phone and Email interactions with our company and any affiliated companies
  3. Consumer Reporting Agencies
  4. State Insurance and Motor Vehicle Departments.

Protection of NPI
Multi-State Insurance Services maintains Physical, Electronic, and Procedural safeguards to keep your NPI secure. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining your data security and confidentiality, and maintaining the integrity of the processes safeguarding your information. Physical and virtual access to systems housing NPI data is limited to technical employees necessary to maintain the infrastructure, and protected by industry standard anti-virus, anti-malware, firewalls, and physical lock and key. Certain high risk NPI’s such as (but not limited to) credit card and social security information, is only stored using industry standard data encryption and may only be decrypted and viewed by authorized employees. Security procedures to protect the confidentiality of your information are reviewed and tested on a regular basis to ensure continued operation and protection. Testing is performed internally and through a third party. For any questions regarding the safeguards of your NPI, you may contact the company in writing. You have a right to also know what NPI we have about your and receive a copy upon request. Within thirty (30) business days of receipt of your written request, we will disclose to you the NPI about you in our files.

Information We Disclose
Multi-State Insurance Services may disclose your information for specific purposes permitted by law as necessary to service your policy or claim. We require that all parties to which your information is disclosed maintain comparable security and privacy standards. We may disclose your information to the following types of companies:
  1. Third party software vendors and independent software contractors as necessary to develop the system that manage your policy or claim.
  2. State, Local, and Federal government agencies such as your state’s Department of Insurance or Department of Motor Vehicles, or law enforcement agencies.
  3. Financial institutions such as credit card payment processors or banks for the processing of payments.
  4. Affiliated companies providing services on your behalf such as Roadside Assistance or automotive repair shops.
  5. Consumer Reporting agencies such as credit bureaus and / or collections agencies
  6. Affiliated and third-party claims adjusters as necessary to service an insurance claim made by you or in which you are named.

We do not disclose any information about you, as our customer or as a former customer, except as outlined in this notice.

Email Collection and Marketing
If you contact us by email, or provide us your email address through any other medium such as chat, or on your application, you are consenting that we may in turn contact you via email with information regarding a policy written by us, or a quote generated by our systems but never bound. We will never use your email for direct marketing, except as noted above, and we will never sell or share your email with any third parties except as outline above. Most importantly you will never receive an email from us asking for personal or financial information.
